DirectorWhat you will doLet's do this. Let's change the world. In
this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering
best-in-class analytics and insights for Amgen Medical organization
across therapeutic areas. This person will use an understanding of
the program objectives to conduct data analytics, generate and
share insights, and foster continuous business discussions to help
shape Amgen Medical organization's patient support strategies.This
position reports to the Sr Director, Medical Data and Analytics
team.Responsibilities
- Evaluate, interpret, and present analyses on specific business
objectives and in preparation for ad hoc investigative
requests.
- Lead building and deployment of decision science models and
insights across the Field Medical Organization, with prior
experience in AI, Machine Learning, quantitative methods,
multivariate statistics, predictive modeling, and other analytics
frameworks/techniques.
- Develop advanced statistical measurement models to determine
cause and effect.
- Lead, develop, and continuously improve the customer universe
and field medical targeting framework; deliver quarterly (or as
designated by medical leadership) field medical targeting lists and
recommendations for balancing and/or enhanced operational
performance.
- Proactively coordinate and promote positive medical and
cross-functional stakeholder relations (e.g., Global Field Medical
Excellence, US Strategy & Performance, data & analytics teams,
etc.) to deliver an integrated and high-quality secondary data
analysis and insights capability.
- Lead project planning and management of activities across
medical stakeholders and analytics team to deliver on
priorities.
- Find opportunities and improve the Analytics team capabilities
by researching and implementing new analytical tools,
methodologies, internal and external standard processes, new data
sources, etc.
- Establish an insight-driven discussion forum for Quarterly
Medical Reviews (QMRs).
- Understand pharmaceutical ecosystem and data sets including
prescription (ex. IQVIA NPA), outlet (ex. IQVIA DDD), Lab as well
as medical and pharmacy claims (ex. Symphony Claims).
- Analyze data/reports to generate strategic actionable business
insights using any of the following: SQL, SAS, R, Python, and/or
Microsoft Excel.
- Coach, lead, and develop a hard-working team (onshore and

Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 4 years of Data Science,
Computer Science/Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business
Insights Generation, Engineering (any), Science (any), Statistics
or related field experienceORMasters degree and 8 years of Data
Science, Computer Science/Information Systems, Data Analytics,
Business Insights Generation, Engineering (any), Science (any),
Statistics or related field experienceORBachelors degree and 10
years of Data Science, Computer Science/Information Systems, Data
Analytics, Business Insights Generation, Engineering (any), Science
(any), Statistics or related field experienceIn addition to meeting
at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 4
years experience directly managing people and/or leadership
experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the
allocation of resources. Your managerial experience may run
concurrently with the required technical experience referenced
above.Preferred Qualifications:
- Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical secondary data and analytics
experience spanning across different disciplines and therapeutic
areas, e.g., National/Subnational, HCP and patient level analysis,
site-of-care, field targeting framework, etc.
- Expertise in setting up and measuring randomized controlled
trials, cohort studies, and matched, case-control studies.
- Comprehensive understanding of the components of setting up
data models and running scenario planning that match the business
need.
- Experience in setting up process for data ingestion, Quality
Checks, etc.
- Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated
ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatic
problem-solving approach, and manage execution.
- Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to
see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble
information to enable relevant business analyses.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles.
- High degree of analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibits strong understanding of business strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain credibility with
all levels of management to promote and cultivate quality
throughout the organization.
- Passion for deriving insights from data and storytelling with
data.
- Track record in identifying, retaining, and developing top

(excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on
several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills,
