Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Building Engineer for a contract position in Long Beach, CA. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary: The position requirements are to perform a variety of repairs and services in a specialized building system environment with a high emphasis on HVAC and Mechanical Systems. Working knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems, Electrical / Electronic, Security Systems, Client, and other similar types of related equipment and systems is a PLUS.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Service and Maintain HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters.
Performs a variety of minor service work for areas such as painting, plumbing, mechanical, electrical/electronic, security, electronic locking doors, hydraulics, carpentry, and machine servicing, etc.
Will plan, select, and Client out required materials for service and repair work.
Complete assigned Preventive Maintenance tasks.
Ability to understand building prints, schematics, and other available documents while troubleshooting systems or other types of work requests.
Assist with managing subcontracted work to ensure proper notifications are sent, work is completed in accordance with the designed scope of work, and ensures all safety requirements are met.
Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machines instrumental to building operations.
Provide detailed information related to procurement group for new supplies and equipment.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and complies with all company policies.
Is required to participate in an on-call rotation schedule to attend to emergency situations at the facility.


Qualifications:5 years' experience in a Facility Maintenance environment.
Understanding of HVAC systems (AHU's, DX sys, pumps, fans, exhaust systems, etc).
Working knowledge of Metasys (Client) a plus.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems.
Knowledge in building Security Systems to include card readers, surveillance cameras, and electronic locking systems a PLUS.
Working understanding of UPS and Generator systems.
Basic Electrical system working knowledge.
Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, operate machinery, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
Have a valid driver's license
