OverviewSalary: $146,635 - $257,630The Senior Director of
Solutions is responsible for driving strategic growth, thought
leadership, and innovative supply chain solutions for key accounts.
This role requires a deep understanding of industry trends, a
customer-centric approach, and the ability to develop and execute
solution strategies that drive long-term partnerships. The Senior
Director will lead a team of account managers and logistics
solution experts, ensuring best-in-class service and the continuous
development of supply chain capabilities.ResponsibilitiesThought
Leadership & Industry Expertise:
- Act as a strategic advisor to internal and external
stakeholders on emerging trends, market dynamics, and technological
advancements in logistics and supply chain management.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and
client meetings to establish credibility and influence market
discussions.
- Drive innovation by identifying and integrating new supply
chain technologies, automation, and sustainability
initiatives.
- Develop whitepapers, case studies, and industry reports to
showcase company capabilities and thought leadership.
- Participate as a member of the CLG Deal Desk.Solution Strategy
& Development:
- Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive logistics
solutions tailored to client needs, ensuring alignment with
industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including operations,
IT, sales, and finance-to create scalable and efficient logistics
solutions.
- Analyze client supply chain data to identify areas for
optimization, efficiency gains, and cost savings.
- Oversee the development of pricing models, contract
negotiations, and solution proposals.Account Management & Client
Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong executive-level relationships with
key clients to understand their business objectives, challenges,
and growth strategies.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for escalations, ensuring
proactive resolution of service issues and continuous improvement
initiatives.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on upsell
and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Ensure consistent delivery of service excellence through
structured business reviews, performance tracking, and client
feedback loops.Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of account
managers and logistics solution professionals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous
learning within the team.
- Establish clear performance metrics and KPIs to measure team
success and drive accountability.
- Work closely with HR to attract, retain, and develop top-tier
logistics talent.Essential Duties:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a
high-performing team of account managers, pricing analysts,
solutions engineers, and real estate specialists. Foster a
collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Solutions Development: Oversee the design and development of
customized, value-added logistics solutions for prospective and
existing clients, including warehousing, transportation,
value-added services, and technology integration.
- Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies that
are competitive, profitable, and aligned with business
objectives.
- Account Management: Direct the account management team in
building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Real Estate Strategy: Collaborate with the real estate team to
identify and secure optimal warehouse and distribution center
locations.
- Business Development Support: Actively participate in the
business development process, including lead generation, proposal
development, and client presentations.
- Financial Performance: Monitor key performance indicators
(KPIs) related to revenue, profitability, and client
satisfaction.
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive
landscape, and emerging technologies.
- Contract Negotiation: Support the negotiation of contracts with
clients and vendors.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other
departments to ensure seamless execution of logistics
solutions.QualificationsMinimum Required QualificationsEducation
and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain
Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related
field.
- MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract logistics or
supply chain management, with at least 5 years in an industrial
engineering, solution design or business development role.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful
solutions for complex logistics challenges.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with a
demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and operational
excellence.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
- Experience leading high-performing teams in a dynamic and
fast-paced environment.Preferred QualificationsEducation &
Certifications:
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
- Professional certifications in supply chain management (e.g.,
CSCP, SCOR-P), logistics (e.g., PMP), or related fields.
- Specific coursework or specializations in areas like supply
chain analytics, optimization, or sustainability.Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in contract logistics or supply chain
management, with a demonstrable progression of increasing
responsibility.
- 8+ years of experience in a solution design, industrial
engineering, or business development role, specifically within the
logistics industry.
- Experience working with large, complex, and strategic accounts
(including Fortune 500 companies).
- Experience developing and implementing solutions involving
advanced technologies like automation, robotics, AI, and blockchain
within supply chain contexts.
- Experience with real estate strategy and negotiations related
to warehouse and distribution center locations.
- Experience working with international or global supply
chains.
- Experience participating in and contributing to a Deal Desk or
similar deal review process.Skills & Abilities:
- Deep understanding of various supply chain models and
methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Agile).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability
to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop data-driven
solutions.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools
(e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems).Physical Demands:
- Travel: Frequent travel (30% - 50%), both domestically and
potentially internationally, is required.
- Site Visits: Regular visits to potential and existing
properties are required.
- Lifting & Carrying: While primarily an office environment,
occasional lifting and carrying of documents, files, or
