How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Director of Advanced Fabrication will be responsible for leading, directing, and inspiring the Weld Process Specialists, Account Managers, and District Managers within the West Region to achieve top line sales growth, EBITDA performance, and customer service excellence by bringing value through seminars, efficiency analyses and surveys. This position is the engine for sales growth for the metal fabrication market segment.

Target Salary: $130,000 - $160,000
Annual Bonus: 25%
Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive sales growth through value selling disciplined sales process and cultivating a fast paced sales environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe environment at all Airgas facilities.
  • Manage the Weld Process Sales Specialist team to efficiently and effectively execute the Advanced Fabrication strategy and grow sales in the MetFab market segment.
  • Manage Advanced Fabrication assets throughout the West Region. Forecast and budget for future staff and equipment needs for the fiscal year.
    • Ensure effective collaboration, teamwork, and communication throughout the Regional Company by participating in staff meetings and war room meetings.
      • Develop a P&L (Sales & GP) to enable the West region to very easily measure the growth of all Advanced Fabrication Technologies along with the related consumables and gases.
        • Develop local vendor partnerships aligned with the Advanced Fabrication strategy to drive the segment in the West region, conduct technical and product sales training, war rooms, and support the sales process.
        • Manage the Airgas commercial offering for all shielding and laser gases.
        • Oversee ongoing development of the expertise of the Advanced Fab team, to ensure training and development is aligned to the needs of the markets we serve.
        • The "collective wisdom" of all specialists is very important to our success across the country. Collaboration with that team will only improve your success in the region and our success nationwide
        • Other duties as assigned.

          Are you a MATCH?

          • Must have a broad knowledge of the welding, cutting and fabrication processes common to the Airgas customer base including but not limited to:
            • Manual, semi-automated and automated welding processes.
            • Shielding gas applications
            • Basic shop equipment used for punching, forming, bending, or rolling of both plate and structural components.
            • Knowledge of welding and power equipment from many different suppliers.
            • Knowledge of bulk gas facilities and distribution through manifolds, mixers and piping systems.
            • Must be self-motivated and results/action oriented
            • Extensive sales management with a proven record of driving top line sales growth through effective leadership of sales teams and groups.
            • Outstanding people skills. Strong in-person, written and oral communication skills and the confidence to permit selling to high-level officers of customer companies.
            • Collaborative person able to manage and inspire others and effectively lead and influence groups.
            • Must have a good business acumen that will be applied in all dealings with vendors, customers and Airgas Associates.
            • Team player with positive attitude towards other associates, customers and work environment.
            • Flexible and adaptable in the face of interrupted schedules, canceled appointments and unfulfilled promises.
            • Must be proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.


              Education, Experiences, Certificates/Licenses and/or Registrations:
              • BS Degree in Business or related field of study and/or > 1015 years' experience working in the welding industry with experience managing a sales force proficient at selling and servicing mechanized cutting systems, robotics and other automated welding/cutting products.
              • Proven track record at sales, business planning and achieving measurable goals.
              • Established track record as producer could supersede educational requirements.
