come join us.Vast is looking for a Senior Network Engineer,
reporting to the IT Manager,to support the development of the
systems that will be required for the design and build of
artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. As a Senior Network
Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and
maintaining our network infrastructure, with a specific focus on
the aerospace sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive
experience in network engineering, including design,
implementation, and troubleshooting of complex network
environments. Additionally, experience in the aerospace industry is
highly desirable.This will be a full-time,exempt position located
in ourLong Beach location.Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure solutions
tailored to the unique requirements of the aerospace industry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather network
requirements, design scalable solutions, and ensure alignment with
business objectives.
- Configure and maintain network devices, including routers,
switches, firewalls, and load balancers, to support
high-performance and reliable network connectivity.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including
firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, to
protect against cybersecurity threats.
- Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and
optimize network configurations to ensure high availability,
reliability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot network issues and implement timely resolutions to
minimize downtime and impact on operations.
- Document network designs, configurations, and procedures to
ensure knowledge transfer and maintain accurate network
documentation.
- Stay updated with the latest networking technologies, trends,
and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous
improvement.Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years experience designing, deploying, and managing complex
critical network infrastructurePreferred Skills and Experience
- Strong expertise in networking protocols and technologies,
including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs
- Strong experience with deploying and maintaining EVPN-VXLAN
environments
- Hands-on experience with Juniper OS and FortiGate
- Experience with network security technologies, including
firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools such as
Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Nagios.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and
resolve complex network issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability
to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are
a plus.Salary Range: California$140,000 - $185,000 USD COMPENSATION
